Then Nellikka – Amla Preserved in Honey

Then Nellikka – Amla Preserved in Honey

A traditional Kerala preserve: whole amla left in honey and turmeric until they shrink and turn sweet. Have one or two every day – a very good homemade antioxidant.

Goes well with: Nellikka Juice

Tips from the Ruchippura kitchen

  • Dry the amla completely – any water will spoil the honey.
  • Use a glass bottle with a tight lid.
